Gambas Pil Pil - King Prawns With Chili, Garlic and Vanilla
I was sold on these because as well as chili and the usual suspect spices this dish contained vanilla, which sounds like a winning combination. This was really tasty but you needed to get a lot of the spices heaped onto it to get the benefit of the flavours. The oily soup around it smelt incredible though and would of worked as the basis of a tom yum soup and the vanilla did add a lovely sweet hint to it.
